Background

All children are potentially vulnerable, they need protection. However, children in difficult circumstances require extra help. They have different types of problems. These problems need to be separately understood in order to establish appropriate help, for the individual child or group of children. Physical emotional, spiritual guidance, social care and protection. This puts their survival at risk.

The Name of the Project: African Child in Need-Uganda

The Nature of the Project: Non-Governmental, Non-profit making, Community Based Christian Child Ministry, Matt. 25:34-40, James 1:27, Mark 10:13-16. General Purpose or Aims In response to spiritual mandate of love and compassion, Africa Child in Need-Uganda purposes to minister to needy children, releasing them from the bondage of poverty and enabling them to become fulfilled adults. As such, African Child in Need-Uganda assisted Children will become equipped in the following ways: * Be Christians in faith and deed. * Be responsible members of their family, church and community. * Support themselves and share with others in need * Maintain their physical well-being Further, African Child in Need-Uganda purposes to increase awareness and build understanding among caring people concerning the problems facing the needy children Corporate Philosophy We believe every child is a unique creation of God we accept the command of Jesus when He said, "suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid then not for such is the kingdom of God" (Mark 10:14). We believe every child is of promise and that each has a right to discover and develop his God-given potential. However, millions of children living in developing countries are too hungry and malnourished, too diseased and poverty stricken to develop as God intended. Since we also believe children are the world's most valuable resource, we purpose to help them reach their God-given potential. We believe that the well-being of child, present and future is conditioned by his or her surroundings. Therefore, we can improve the surroundings; we can improve the well-being of the child. For example, the well-being of a child is affected by conditions in his or her family. The well-being of a family is affected by conditions in the church and community, the well-being of community is affected by the larger society or country and its government. Africa child in Need-Uganda believes that as we minister to the families, churches and communities we will enhance the development of children into productive Christian adults. We believe to ministering to the whole person. People are neither "soulless stomachs" nor "stomachless souls." We recognize that "man cannot live by bread alone …" As Jesus taught, "Life is more than food and the body more than clothing", we do understand. Therefore, that "fullness of life" and fulfilment in life can be found only through a personal faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, we also believe that if we are to follow the teaching and example of Jesus Christ, we must share His compassion and concern to "feed the hungry", clothe the naked, house the homeless and heal the sick. We are therefore committed to people's physical, material, mental, emotional and spiritual needs. Africa Child in Need -Uganda Statement of Faith What we believe: We believe the bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant word of God (2Tim. 3:15-17, 2Peter 1:21). We believe there is only one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (Gen.1:1, Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:18, Jn.10:30) We believe in the Deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Is. 7:14, Matt.1:23, Lk. 1:34-35); His sinless life (Heb.4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (ICor.15:3, Eph. 1:7, Heb. 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25, ICor. 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mk. 16:19); His personal return to earth in glory and power (Act. 1:11, Rev. 19: 11-16) We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for the salvation of man because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature, and that all are justifies on the single ground of the shed blood of Christ and that only by God's grace through faith alone are we saved (Eph. 2:8-10, Titus 3:5) We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are not unto the resurrection of damnation (Jn.5:29). We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:9, ICor. 12:12-13), Gal. 3:26-28). We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Rom. 8:13-14, I Cor. 3: 16, 6:19, Eph. 4:30, 5:18). We believe that we as Christians are examples of the love of God in this world. It is this (agape) love that we desire to posses and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians (John 4:16-17). Mission Statement We devotedly stand as advocates for destitute children, using God-given resources to release them from the bondage of poverty, enhance their academic status, give health care, expose them socially and help them exploit spiritual gifts and potential, so that they become positive change agents in the community.
