Sonrise Food Bank provides food to ministries.
Our mission at Sonrise Food Bank is to provide supplies to non-profit organizations, to help each individual organization to supply food to the needy (if that is their ministry), or to help them in whatever their outreach is. We provide food and supplies for a handling fee of 14 cents a pound. Organizations we reach out to include battered women's homes, homes for children and mentally challenged, organizations that work with the elderly, and churches that have ministries ranging from soup kitchens to food banks and many others.. We are able to supply these groups with food, personal hygiene items, household items, cleaning supplies, baby supplies, and nutritional supplement for the elderly. We are able to help them cut their operating costs dramatically. Sonrise Food Bank serves 248 organizations in Southwest Virginia. We also reach out to West Virginia and Tennessee. We also provide this service to overseas ministries, and send supplies to distress areas. To be eligible to receive food through Sonrise an organization must have a 501C3 non-profit status.
