Why does this Task Force Exist?
The purpose of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference Task Force on Older Adult Ministries, under guidance of the Holy Spirit, is to connect congregations and to promote comprehensive, intentional ministries by, with and for older adults.
Why was this Task Force created?
To raise awareness
To offer resources
To help local churches nurture ministries for Older Adults
To help local churches outreach and witness to older persons
within the
Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference of the
United Methodist Church
1999 is the year of the Older Adult as proclaimed by the United Nations. Sept. 12,1999 has been designated by the Illinois Great Rivers Conference as the Sunday that churches in the Conference are asked to celebrate the gifts and ministry of Older Adults in their congregations.
