New Hope Ministries

Galatians 6:1
"Brethern, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted".

OUR VISION

Dear Freinds in Christ: I would like to tell you about a ministry that normal society has neglected and I feel lead to build a work to help correct. A "New Hope Mission" for men that will concentrate from the Northeast to Virginia.

For countless reasons, wayward men need a time to readjust back into a productive, Godly lifestyle. I have interviewed many would-be candidates for this program and would like to share two of their stories:

1. I asked a man preparing to leave prison what his plans were and his response was this: Because he is an ex-con, job prospects are poor. He has no family and the state will give him $500 cash when leaving. The money won't last a month in today's market so he planned a two week vacation of good food and lodging, then buy a squirt gun and pretend to hold up a store and return back to prison. He said life in prison was not as bad as life on the streets.

2. Another having serious domestic trouble was sent to prison, the state forced his wife to divorce him or loose the children. When he was released he was broke and alone.

Both stated they were Christians that had fallen in their weakness, and paid a very high price and had no idea where to go to get a fresh start. Evryone has made a mistake but some can't start over without help. These are only two stories but I have talked to contractors, teachers, and many others with similar endings, all where sad with NO HOPE.

The mission structure is designed toward good work ethics for everyone and responsibilities to his family, if there is one. It's sad to see so many mothers trying to raise the children alone because the fathers couldn't cope with the pressures of life and walked out on the family.

If you do some research you will find opportunities for children and women but limited and poor programs offered for men in this situation. What does a man do when he is really trying to start over in a normal society? GOD is one for optimism as it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, "Wherefore comffort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do".

If the pressures of normal life are temporaly controled then the individual can concentrate better on the concept of self-control within Christ. I feel a balanced 90-day program of bible and good work ethics will give a lasting transition back into a Godly and productive life.

This program is not intended to be a place to hide from trouble but to readjust back into normal society with some basic work skills. The program will also enhance the biblical work ethic: 2 Thessalonians 3:10 "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat". On-site workshops and classroom instruction will enhance this.

If you feel your organization is interested in becoming a part of this mission or would like additional information, please contact me. Also, if you have experience in an area you feel would be of benefit, please assist me with your advice so this "Mission" might begin a better success.
