Teen Spirit program description
Teen Spirit developed from a student led Bible club at Mentor High School, the largest high school in Ohio. Custodial adult, Michael Leu, was led to extend these students into an out of school group where the gospel of Jesus Christ is presented to teenagers through age appropriate activities. As adolescents are surrounded by social negatives that compete for their attention, Teen Spirit offers a wholesome environment of high energy where the free gift of eternal and the abundant life of Jesus of Nazareth is presented. Teen Spirit prays to connect to other communities, partnershipping with parents, businesses, and youth pastors.
Teen Spirit director, Michael Leu
Teen Spirit director Michael Leu is an educator of 23 years and is now a counselor at Mentor High School, Mentor, Ohio. Following the lead of the Holy Spirit, Mike developed this out of school Christian ministry for teenagers, looking to connect area teens to the reality of Jesus Christ through numerous community activities. Mike and his family attend Calvary Assembly of God in Willoughby Hills, Ohio, pastored by David Welle. Mike is also studying for licensing as a youth minister through Berean University, associated with the Assembly of God churches. Teen Spirit is non-denominational and welcomes all youth and families.
