Not a Fraternity

Chi Alpha is a missionary outreach to college campuses worldwide. We are committed to the vision of impacting the lives of college students through small-group discipleship training, corporate worship, radical evangelism and lots of prayer. We believe that the supernatural indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God is the only way that we can be empowered to be effective witnesses for Christ. We strongly believe that every Christian should be utterly devoted to Jesus because Jesus gave Himself totally for us. Since today's college students are tomorrow's political and business leaders, Chi Alpha's broad vision is to change the world as we send out able ministers of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

Using God's Law in Evangelism.

The Ten Commandments are a vital part of the gospel of Christ Jesus. After Peter had revealed the devout Jews' sin in Acts 2:14-36, they were pricked in their hearts and asked him and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" In verse 38, the first thing Peter tells them to do is repent, and repentance from sin is still the first step toward the grace of God. The problem with evangelism in America, which wasn't a problem for these devout Jews, is that many Americans don't know what sin is. That question is answered in I John 3:4, "...sin is transgression of the law." When the Law of God is revealed, sinners know their sin, and realize their need for a savior. So the Law is a necessary tool in bringing the spiritually dead to life through Christ.

The Ten Commandments:

1. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of those that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and Keep my commandments.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for God will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
5. Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
6. Thou shalt not kill. (Jesus said that if you hate your brother, you murder him in your heart.)
7. Thou shalt commit adultery. (Jesus said that anyone who looks upon a woman lustfully has committed adultery in his heart.)
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy nieghbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's.--Exodus 20:3-17
