Who are we?

Greatings in Christ

We are a true Holy Catholic Church.

We are a high church group of Lutherans seeking to return to Rome which we believe to be the Mother Church sharing with us the true means of Salvation. As a True Particular Church under Roman Catholic Canon Law, we share in the final glory.

Christ created the Church through Peter, in Rome.

"Et ego dico tibi quia tu es Petrus et super hanc petram aedificabo ecclesiam meam et portae inferi non praevalebunt adversum eam. Et tibi dabo claves regni caelorum et quodcumque ligaveris super terram erit ligatum in caelis et quodcumque solveris super terram erit solutum in coelis." (Matthew 16:18-19).

The lineage of our bishops and priests is the Rebiban (Vatican) Succession via the Duarte-Costa lineage. This lineage is held by 93% of Roman Catholic bishops.

The secondary lineage is that of the Utrecht Succession.

The ACC is a small conservative Lutheran Catholic Church with valid holy orders recognized by the Vatican. Presently it is in union negotiation with the Roman Catholic Church. We are governed by ACC canon law and that of the Augustana Catholic Communion. We follow Roman Catholic canon law to the greatest extent possible. Our liturgy is always Roman Catholic.

Clergy in Apostolic succession and non-Apostolic succession are encouraged to apply to unite with us. Should the priest not be in Apostolic succession, arrangements will be made to have the individual reordained into the order of Deacon and Priest, High church Lutherans are most welcomed.

Church charters will be issued to those congregations approved to affiliate. Please understand that we are not a Protestant Church. If God is calling you to unite with us, you are welcome to do so upon approval of your application. We welcome other churches in the Apostolic tradition to come under the care of our Church and bishop.

Please understand that we seek union with Rome and acknowledge the Holy Father as the supreme spirital head of the Church. Roman Catholic dogma, doctrine, and canon law are our standards. Our Church, at this time, can not ordain or receive women into the ministry as it is a barrier to union with Rome.

Veni Sancte Spiritus reple tuorum corda fidelium et tui amoris in eis ignem accende.

(Come Holy Ghost, fill the hearts of thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of thy love).

What We Believe

We believe in the One, Holy, Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. We believe that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, and that most holy name is Jesus, Lord of heaven and earth. We believe that only through Him is the full revelation of God given to man.

We believe in the virginity of the Blessed Mary.

We believe in the intercession the the Saints.

We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the authentic record of God's revelation to man and is a revelation valid for all men and all time. In the Bible we have God's revelation of Himself, His saving activity, and moral demands. We believe that all scripture is given by inspiration of God.

We affirm the Christian Faith as set forth in the Apostles' Creed.

We believe in the Holy Tradition of the Church as passed down by the early church fathers.

We believe in the seven holy Sacraments; Baptism and Holy Eucharist are the two major sacraments. We believe them to be objective signs of Christ's continued presence and saving activity among us. We believe in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and that the bread and wine become the actual body and blood of Christ.

We believe in God's gift of the apostolic ministry to His Church, asserting the necessity of a bishop in apostolic succession (or a priest ordained by such) as the celebrant of the Eucharist.

Furthermore, we hold that the Holy Orders of Bishops, Priests and Deacons consist of ministers in accordance with Christ's Will and institution.

We believe in the sanctity of human life, that life begins at the moment of conception. God gives life, it is not a matter of human choice.

We believe it is the duty of the Church and it's members to bear witness to Christ's example, to follow it in their lives, and to reject the false standards of the world.

In all matters of faith, we affirm Tradition and the Holy Bible as interpreted by the Holy Father, the Magisterium, and the their appointed bishops to be our guides.

Our roots are Roman Catholic. We became Lutheran to restore the Church. We were offered Apostolic Succession through the Roman Catholic Church via the Order of Corporate Reunion. The Vatican recognizes our priests and bishops as being valid. Bishop Edmondson orders through the OCR via the Most Revd Samuel Guido. Of interest to Roman Catholic Clergy, the Roman Catholic bishops assigned by Pope Pius IX to consecrate the first OCR bishops were Luigi Nazari Cardinal di Calabiana, Dominicus Cardinal Agostine, and Vincentius Cardinal Moretti. They were asssisted by Uniate Eastern Orthodox Archbishop Ignatios Ghiurekian. Under Pope Pius's direction Joseph Aloysius Cardinal Trevisanato authorized the establishment of the OCR.
