The ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Irish Orthodox Catholic Church is vested within the Holy Synod of the IRISH ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN ARCHDIOCESE OF NORTH AMERICA which currently has three validly consecrated (Arch)Bishops formaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Jurisdiction and two Bishops who are spiritual advisors to the synod. This Synod has complete authority over the American Jurisdiction of the I.O.C.C. NOTE: This Jurisdiction is responsible for its own ecclesiastical affairs and is NOT subject to any other Orthodox body, foreign or domestic. We have NO connection to any other group(s) claiming to be "Celtic Orthodox", "Irish Orthodox or Orthodox Catholic". Our Liturgy, Prayers & Chants are from the orthodox prayer books & Orthodox Study Bible. Our Metropoltan's lineage comes through the Athonite Bishop Ierotheos of Mt. Athos down through the ranks to his consecrator, the monks at Saint Monica's live the communal spiritual life within the skete (Monastery) based on the ascetic traditions of the Athonite Monks of Mt. Athos and the Orthodox Faith. Our principles are as such, that a monastery should earn its own living. Our Principle source of livelihood nowadays is secular employment, until we can generate an income from within the monastery. All income goes directly to the upkeep of the skete. Every dollar over our own needs is redirected into the local community to help those in need.
