Joy Junction
Joy Junction is a church ministry which provides free food, shelter and counseling to homeless and abused women and homeless families. "BR" Joy Junction is an agency providing both emergency and longer term food, shelter and counseling for homeless women and families. "BR" Those we help are not the chronic derelicts who have no desire to return to society, bur rather the temporarily economically disadvantaged, who need a place to stay in order that they may quickly become self supporting again. "BR" We are the largest shelter of its kind in the state, with a capacity of up to 150 people a day. "BR" Families staying at the shelter are expected to work out a plan, with help from a counselor if needed, to become self supporting once again. In normal circumstances, families allowed to stay for an initial stay of 30 days. if circumstances warrant, that stay can be extended. "BR" Joy Junction dependson the private sector for all of its support, and receives no government funding of any kind. In addition, the shelter is not a United Way member. "BR" All funding comes from either churches, businesses or interested individuals. "BR" Joy Junction works with and complements all area ministries and agencies. In addition, the shelter works with the police department and area emergency rooms. "BR" Joy Junction invites referrals, and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
