Pastor Luther McGee Jr. was born on Oct. 2, 1949, to Mr. and Mrs. Luther McGee in Leflora County, Mississippi. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, in August 1971.
Pastor McGee started his journey of over 35 years in ministry at the Pentecostal Fire Baptized church in Fostoria, OH where he served as a deacon for two years under Pastor William Giles. He then went on to become a minister at Mission Time Holiness Church in Findlay, OH under Pastor Bernice Bryson for five years serving in the capacity of Assistant Pastor. In 1978, he moved His family to Fremont, OH and was made Assistant Pastor at Faith COGIC under Pastor Walter Hurse, where he was anointed an elder. He served as Asst. Pastor, Sunday School Superintendent , and Praise and Worship leader. After serving there four years, Pastor McGee moved his membership to Greater St. James Holiness COGIC under the late Bishop William Morgan James. Pastor McGee served in faithfulness as an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, and then elevated to Assistant Pastor. Pastor McGee stayed at Greater St. James Holiness COGIC, 22 years. He was then called to be a shepherd on December 29, 1997, he was installed as Pastor of Exalted Word COGIC by Supt. Chester B. Trail.
Pastor McGee has adopted the motto of, "Good leadership consists in showing average people how to do the work of extraordinary Christians!" This has proven to be purely prophetic, as there are signs and wonders following this great man of God, and those under his care. He has a word of holiness upon him that is refined of fire and proving to be timely concerning the last day we are in.
In November 2000, Pastor McGee was voted by the magazine Gospel Today, as one of the greatest Christian leaders of the day. It is obvious to all who meet Pastor McGee, that he is an anointed God-man needed in this day and time. This pastor truly preaches the uncompromised word of God and lives that same Word. Exalted Word, is under the watch care of the COGIC, Inc. We acknowledge the doctrine and accept it to be inline with the word of God.
On the 5th day of May 1969, he was married to Dorothy Louise Brown. They began their courtship after being playground rivals in the third grade, and have been together since then. To their union was born Tracy Ellis (Simone), Michael Christopher (Karissa), Stephanie Lynn (Jeffrey), and Andrea La-Sha (Robert). They also have nine grandchildren, Alan-Michael, Melina Renee, Marcus Ryan, Nicholas Jeffrey, Cameron Robert, Nathaniel Christopher,Christian Ryan, Caitlynn Rianna, and Nolan Anthony, all listed in chronological order.
Pastor McGee and his beautiful wife, Dorothy Louise Brown-McGee, have been married for 38 glorious years, and reside in Sandusky, Ohio.
Our pastor is not only a dynamic Man of God, he is a highly sought after apostle, teacher, preacher, and psalmist, with signs and wonders following! Following the vision of our leader Exalted Word is undertaking huge tasks in our community, by combating, drug abuse, homelessness, hunger, child abuse, domestic violence, and teen pregnancy.
