You can sing like a Christian Monk ... every Wednesday at 7:00 PM

No guitars, no alter call, no "offering".... Just the sound of men singing.

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers” (Acts 2:42).

Saint Columba’s Western Rite Orthodox Church is a parish of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. We are in full sacramental communion and visible unity with the 300 million-member Orthodox Church while preserving Western liturgical and cultural heritage and patrimony. Our bishop is Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and Ruling Bishop of the Western Rite congregations and monasteries.

In 1996 Saint Columba's had constructed a garage kit and began using it as a church building; the interior includes reminders of the cloud of witnesses by which we are surrounded. An arsonist's work gutted the building in 2012, and the building has been reconstructed. The iconostasis (not shown) is now rebuilt. during the first half of 2016 parishoners completed a journey to Western Rite Orthodoxy (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia). Please visit our Facebook page: Saint Columba Orthodox Church, Fernley, Nevada.

Saint Columba parish offers the Divine Liturgy of Saint Gregory the Great each Sunday morning at 10:00.

If you have experienced the Catholic Latin Mass or an Anglican (Episcopal) church service, you will be comfortable with the liturgy at Saint Columba's parish. Orhodox Holy Orders and all seven sacraments are valid.

As a  traditional church, you won’t find anything new here. No new theology... no politically correct trendy worship. Muic is provided by the congegation in acapella using the 1940 Hymnal. You will find a friendly and welcoming congregation committed to following the person of and the teaching of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

We are not a place for "beige" Chritianity but a hospital for sinners and a parish committed to living our life for God in this world and in the next.

Our church building is at 1320 Mission Way, just north of I-80 Exit 48 in Fernley, Nevada (corner of Truck inn Way and Missin way). The building is small , and there is plenty of parking.

If you have been concerned that an Orthodox parish would seem foreign to you, let me assure you that you will feel right at home at Saint Columba’s. We are a parish in the English and Celtic tradition. The Orfhodox Church throughout history has sought to use the language of the country in worship. In the United States, American English with a familiar "King James" lilt us the language of worship.

Our priest celebrates facing East, and communicants receive Holy Communion at the altar rail. We are Orthodox in Faith and approved Western in practice.
You are welcome to visit us Sunday at 10:00 AM.

Matins (Morning Prayer) is at 9:30 AM.  Evening Prayer (Vespers) is Wednesday at 7:00 PM. Holy Day and week day Services are as announced.  We follow the Julian liturgical calendar authorised by the Russian Orthodox Church.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Heb. 13:8).

 “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers” (Acts).

Saint Columba’s as a parish in the original Christian church is concerned with the direction in which our nation is headed. We note that our nation’s laws differ from the Church in definitions of Marriage, Divorce, Birth Control, Education and the divine nature of the Family. We believe that our obligation is to recognize and teach that in private life and in public life Christ is King, and that all freedoms emanate from Him.

If you want to visit or become a member of the Orthodox Church via the parish of Saint Columba, be advised that we as a part of the Body of Christ are not willing to accommodate a secular culture that is determined to follow its own ego.

Consider that United States law sanctions:

a) Marriage in a way that is different from Christian Marriage;

b) Couples living together when not actually married;

c) Does not acknowledge that males and females as being separate.

d) Secular law requires children to be in an "approved school setting", which in Public School means teaching children that sexual activity is OK outside of Marriage, that there are more than two sexes. Mention of the Creator is not heard in such schools.

e) Family Upbringing is subject to approval by the government. a neighbor can "report" a parent and avisit from social workers follows;

e1) Parents are not allowed to see the medical redords of their own children aged 14 or older unless granted written permission by the teenager.

e2) A husband is not allowed information asbout his wife's medical condition unless granted written permission by the spouse.

f) Homosexual behavior is judicially ruled as "normal" and protected by law;

Abortion is fatal for the baby and harmful to the health of the mother.

Pregnant? Think you might be?

Locate a Pregnancy Center near you. There is a center in Reno, a center in Fernley and a center in Fallon. If you or someone you know is an unexpectedly expectant mother, the site provides a vital link to help for mother and baby.

Please remember to pray and work to stop the legal slaughter of unborn babies in this country. No nation can survive the murder of over 58,000,000 of its children.
