Bagshot, Surrey, UK
Bagshot is a village of Saxon origin, now with a population of about 5000. Historically it had a major trade in coaching inns and market gardening. Bagshot Park has been used as a royal hunting lodge since the 16th century, and was rebuilt by Queen Victoria as a home for her third son, Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and is now the home of Prince Edward, our present Queen's youngest son.
The Duke of Connaught was largely responsible for building St Anne's Church, a fine example of the Victorian neo-gothic style, and which continues to serve the community with 'middle of the road' Anglican worship in a balanced mixture of services that suit all tastes at some time during the month.
