THE CHURCH IN TRANSITION
Transition are very critical times for the life of the church. Typically
membership declines and discord rises when a church enters into a
transitional situation (new pastor, new ministry emphasis, new build-
ings). These unwanted complications come from not understanding
the complexity of transitions and the needs of the congregation.
THE CHURCH IN CRISIS
Tragedy impacts all of us. When tragedies occur, Critical Incident
Debriefing during the first important hours or days can be of great help
in getting people to understand the strong physical and emotional
reactions they experience and, thus, reduce the risk of post-traumatic
stress.
THE CHURCH IN CONFLICT
Conflict resolution is Biblical concept clearly defined by Matthew 18.
Yet, many churches struggle with this procedure. An "outside peace-
maker" takes leadership in discovery: What are the pertinent facts?
What do those involved want out of this situation? What is best for
God's church? What are the emotional needs? This frees the Pastor to
be the Shepherd and to discern the spiritual needs of all involved.
